Today's Zulily Haul

Wouldn't you know it? As soon as we buy some Hanna Andersson sleepers from the Hanna Andersson website, they pop up for sale on Zulily.
Since these sleepers can fit children for quite a long time, we snatched up two more. The Pink Stripes shown above and the Garden Grow shown below. Now we're set on Hanna sleepers for some time.

And then Zulily hit my weakness again, more weiner dogs! Love this bag and we'll use it as Spider Monkey's Easter or Birthday present.

Today's Zulily Haul

I've been eyeing a ceramic set of Dachshund bookends, but I was worried that the Spider Monkey would break them and get hurt. I spied these Dog Zoo Bookends on Zulily by Skip Hop.......... PERFECT solution! These bookends are made with faux leather and are weighted. They're not Dachshunds, but they'll work just fine in our daughter's dog inspired nursery.

And to fulfill my Dachshund love, I picked up this Weiner Dog Bib by Lollypop Ink.

What are loving on Zulily today? Remember, once you place an order, you receive free shipping all weekend!

Why I Invest in Hanna Andersson Sleepers

Hanna Andersson Sleepers aren't cheap, $34.00 to be exact. For a long time I convinced myself they weren't worth it, but I've definitely had a change of heart.

Here's why;

1) The Zipper. Snaps should be banned from sleepers. Who wants to mess around with snaps while trying to change a diaper at 2am? No one.

2) Quality of Material. It's really, really good. The sleepers hold up in washings with no fading, piling or shrinking.

3) The Stretch Factor. These sleepers stretch, which mean you get many more months of use out of them. And if you do the math, then maybe they aren't so pricey after all.

4) Footless. At first this was a big con for me. Wouldn't Lil Spider Monkey's feet get cold? I have to put socks on her?
But the footless approach is actually genius for a few reasons. (A) Children can wear them longer because they won't outgrow them in length. (B) Once you're child is walking you don't have to immediately change them out of the sleepers in the morning (if you happen to be lazy in the morning like me). Lil Spider Monkey would slip in her footed sleepers, meaning I actually had to pick out an outfit before my morning coffee (which we all know is too much pressure).

5) Resale-ability. Is that a word? Hanna Andersson clothing does well on the resale market. So when your little one finally outgrows her sleeper you can actually make a few bucks.

What I'm Loving this Week

1) Juice Beauty- Hydrating Mist. I spray this on most mornings for a nice pick me up and it's certified Organic.
2) David's Tea-Bollywood Chai. A delicious tasty departure from my coffee addiction.

3) Aden & Anais-For the Birds Classic Swaddles. The options for these swaddles are endless. After the swaddling days are over, use them as a breathable sunshade over your stroller or a public changing table cover.
Currently, I'm using one as a tablecloth over our glass dining room table. It's short enough that the Lil Spider Monkey can't pull it down and the birds add a little Spring time flair.

4) Kut from the Kloth- Mia Skinny Jeans in White. I'm finally taking the plunge, I'm buying a pair of white jeans for spring. My Dad picked a pair of Kut from the Kloth Mia cords off my wish list for my birthday and I LOVE them! They fit like a glove and I didn't need them altered, which is always a plus.

5) True Detective. Amazing performances by Woody Harrelson & Matthew McConaughey with rich dialogue as the icing on the cake. My Mom and I were just gushing over the phone about how amazing this show was. It's raised the bar on TV.......we want more!

Free Makeup Samples from Beauteque

Looks like there's a new international player in the Korean beauty world. Beauteque is currently offering 6 free samples and free shipping to US residents (sadly there is a shipping charge for Canadians).

I've recently received my first MEMEBOX, so I'm very interested in Korean beauty products. Perhaps this company has seen the success MEMEBOX is having with US customers and is throwing their hat in the ring too?

Today's Zulily Haul

Oh Zulily, you are quite the wiz at luring in shoppers with your flash sales on unique items.

First up, Skidders. Lil Spider Monkey isn't walking on her own yet, but she is walking while holding on to furniture. I'm hoping these Pink Flying Pig Gripper Shoes will be a good pair of transition shoes until she starts walking. $9.99*

Next up, and from Skidders as well, these cute Leopard Knee Pads. Will she keep them on? Who knows. It's worth a try as we have hardwoods throughout. $5.97*

Finally, an item for me and Lil Spider Monkey! Easy-To-Make Sock Puppets by Craft Box. The timing is great, because in my Art & Play class next week we are making sock monkeys! (That's wishful thinking it'll make it to Vancouver in time.) $10.49*

*Prices listed in USD. Zulily does ship to Canada.

My Gradual Love Affair with Nordstrom

Growing up my older sister had a license plate frame on her car that read "I'd rather be shopping at Nordstrom's" . I remember thinking......"I'd rather be playing outside or hanging with my friends".

Over the years, I would always visit Nordstrom once in awhile for the odd item but never really developed a relationship with the store. Then I fell.......and I fell hard, literally and figuratively. I broke my collarbone, which required three surgeries over four years and numerous weeks of immobilization of my right arm.

During this time, I was trapped at home......bored beyond belief. I started browsing Nordstrom.com and browsing became buying. You see, shipping and returns were free. Because I couldn't drive, Nordstrom let me have my own little dressing room at home. I was smitten.

Once I was feeling better my new love with Nordstrom only grew. I met with Personal Stylists once a year, signed up for Nordstom Rewards and I set up my Wish List for Christmas and Birthdays (by the way, my Dad is the best at always surprising me with items from my Nordy's Wish List, thanks Dad).

So, here's a few of my favorite items from Nordstrom that I'm currently wearing.......Sorry it took me so long to really appreciate you.

Tom's

Honestly, I resisted Tom's for a long time. I was on the fence at to if these shoes were ugly or not. I finally determined they were "Ugly-Hot" and now own 5 pairs. Living in the city, these are a must for walking around comfortably.

Shimera Two-Way Seamless Tank

This is my go-to layering piece after having my baby. It is amazing at keeping "everything" in and smoothing my friend Mr. Muffintop.

Hue "Ultra" Wide Waistband Leggings

Speaking of Mr. Muffintop, these leggings have an extra wide waist band, which means no digging into your waist!

Hunter "Original Tall" Gloss Rain Boots

Splitting my time between Portland, Oregon & Vancouver, British Columbia means rain.... a lot of rain. My Mother-in-law picked these boots off my Wish-List. I get compliments on the color every time I wear them.

Speaking of Vancouver, hurry up Nordstrom and get here already! We are waiting for you with open arms.......and wallets.

The Bark Box Review

Our Bark Box finally arrived! We have 2 dogs, Little B (a Dachshund) and Big B (a Beaglier), so I opted for the small dog box option.

I let the B's do a sniff test and immediately they wanted the Etta Says Crunchy Duck Chew. However, there was only one in the box.........and I've gotta be fair, so I set that aside for later (after I saw it in half)

Planet Dog Chicken & Pumpkin Pot Pie was first up. Crunchy, bone shaped snacks, these suckers were gone in no time flat. 2% of the purchase of Planet Dog products goes to support a program that provides training, placement and support of dogs working to help people in need.
Read more about it here; Planet Dog Foundation

The peanut butter flavor of Grandma Browser's goodies were received just as well. These are wheat, corn and soy free for those doggies with allergies. The biscuit is slightly softer than the Planet Dog treats.

At first glance, I admit I was nervous about the Twistix. My dogs usually aren't keen on dental hygiene treats, but boy, oh boy does Little B need it! Stinky breath.
I saved these treats for last and after a sniff or two, they both started scarfing them down.

And after all the treats were sampled, we played a bit with the Petsafe Slap Happy toy. It claims to stimulate a dog's predatory instinct. The B's are very picky about toys, they did enjoy it for a few minutes but only time will tell if it's a hit.

That's all......phew......Writing reviews is a lot of work! I have much more appreciation for all the bloggers out there.
